  I am the Leasing Manager of two high rises in DTLA. We are in the last phase of a top to bottom renovation at one property and then we will start on the second property and repeat the same process. This process requires all residents to move out atleast once. Many of the residents moved into other apartments in our building temporarily until their renovated apartments were complete and then moved back. We were looking for a few dependable moving companies to offer a list of recommendations. Initially Walter's did a great job and was highly recommended. I am not sure what happenened within the last year, maybe a change in Management or employees, but residents are now having a very different experience. Over the last 6 months we have heard terrible reviews and nightmare experiences using Walter's Transfers. The complaints consistently describe movers showing up excessively late, taking two to three times longer than other moving companies, many broken items, rude movers, disappearing for hours at a time and not answering phones and even intentionally stealing custom items when not tipped properly. The resident was told the employee who stole the custom item was fired but the complaints persisted as other residents had similar experiences. It is unfortunate that this company's reputation has faltered so drastically. We will not be recommending them to any of our residents in the future at this property or others.
